Thinking of you at Christmas, Papa. Our first Christmas without you, but you have Christmas with Gran again - the first in a long time. We found this beautiful poem and wanted to make it a gift for you at Christmas.

==================
Young airman with a cheeky grin,
Brass buttons shining like a pin,
Your training now is almost done-
Come on, let's get this battle won!
Young airman, you did not ask why,
You joned up so you'd learn to fly.
You didn't think there'd be a war,
Well not six years of it, for sure.
Yet though you had some narrow scrapes,
You loved to tell of all your escapes;
Some weren't so lucky,v friends were gone
But you came home and life went on.
Young airman, smiling through the years,
I'm smiling back through happy tears
At you, that brave and cheery lad,
For you grew up to my Dad.
